Targeted improvement

The Austrian technology company Andritz reviewed the costs and services in its SAP environment. The question asked was: Value for money – what are the business units getting for their money? As part of a benchmarking project, we analysed the market prices paid for the SAP infrastructure that Andritz was procuring from its IT service provider. In addition, the internal cost allocation rates being billed to the Andritz business units by its own IT were also assessed. In a second benchmarking module, the costs and productivity of the Andritz IT and of its staffing resources in respect of the SAP base, support and SAP development were examined. The benchmarking flagged up precisely those areas on which this industrial group needs to focus.
