The IT Agenda 2026 survey: Winners and losers between IT budgets and AI boom
IT Agenda 2026: How will IT budgets develop in 2026? Our IT Agenda 2026 survey shows that IT budgets are stagnating as a result of the economic downturn. However, IT security budgets are seeing double-digit growth. Conversely, study participants expect prices for external IT experts, such as freelancers, to fall significantly.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a key strategic topic on the IT agenda. This is reflected in companies' plans to increase the proportion of their IT budgets allocated to AI by 80 per cent.
This issue also focuses on digital sovereignty and resilience. One finding is that the majority of companies intend to implement sovereign cloud solutions. This will further drive the hybrid cloud landscape. However, half of those surveyed believe that complete digital sovereignty for Europe cannot be achieved in the foreseeable future.
